The Photographer and I are finally leaving behind the life of apartment living and buying our happy arses our first house. HAZA! Of course this comes with the joys of having to redo a bathroom and kitchen and other responsibilities that don't include being able to call a staff maintenance man. Oh no! …erm, wait a second…
I kid of course, we're both beyond ready to leave this place behind. The house has a large back yard that is screaming for a big fluffy puppy to run around in and a garden and fire pit to keep us entertained outside where all the fresh air is located. Fresh air that comes hopefully without the smell of cigarettes wafting in the window! Oh, I'm all excited!
Since I set up this new dA account I haven't exactly been a productive artist (as perhaps noted by the massive lack of updates). Working nights and having to sleep in either the living room or bedroom depending on where the upstairs neighbor's kids are not doing their best impressions of elephants hasn't been helpful. Now that expenses are going to be falling on our shoulders, I certainly should get back to freelancing to help pay for much needed things. Or not. We'll see. I am
sick not doing anything, though. My drawing skills are slipping massively. Hopefully a fresh start across town will rejuvenate my artistic prowess. If I can get a little extra cash here and there from art to pay for remodeling, that's definitely a bonus.I'd still like to get back to posting something but for now commissions are out. I certainly wouldn't ask anyone to pay me for the
garbage I've been producing lately. I'm thinking about taking a daily sketch suggestion from the good people on my Facebook, but it might have to wait until after we've moved and unpacked some things before I can pretend to be an artist again. I don't think the photographer would like it much if I left all the unpacking to him, after all.
